The Department of Curriculum Management, in collaboration with Nature Trust Malta (NTM), through its LEAF programme and the Xrobb l-Għaġin Education Programme once again organized a series of hands on sessions for early years. The sessions were held at the Xrobb l-Għaġin Nature Park & Centre for Sustainable Development and a total of 140 students from 4 schools attended. Amongst other interesting sessions students had the opportunity to sow a number of seeds from indigenous trees thanks to the support provided by the PARKS Directorate.
The event which was open to Kindergarten and Primary years was organised for the second consecutive year following the positive response the NGO had last year. Apart from seed sowing sessions, students were actively engaged in leaf art, tree identification, and forest trail exercises amongst others. The tailor made sessions were intended to maximise on the outdoor learning experience of these young learners.
